MONO8 Gallery announces the first solo exhibition of multi-discplinary artist August Lyle Espino. “Sirkopath” will present recent works produced while in lockdown due to the pandemic; all mixed up to a rollercoaster of emotions resulting in a colourful but painful reality the artist is going through. Though the works seem festive, the melancholy mood is present.
Espino studied Fine Arts and has a Masters Degree in Entrepreneurship. The flexibility of mixed media gives him the unlimited potential of the dynamic blend of representational and abstraction resulting on a multi-faceted work, that moves viewers through its free flowing layers and colours. Rooting from his discipline in film, his works requires layers over layers of mini stories and emotions contributing to a final scene that is always unexpected even for the artist himself. His process allows him to create characters that are unusual but believable. The spunky fuse of styles makes his art unsettling yet exciting.
