Surface & Seriality: Painting, Photography & Film
Though aesthetically and conceptually diverse, Hanna Pettyjohn, Jenifer K Wofford, and Gina Osterloh all employ the serial as a strategy to generate meaning. In a gallery talk that precedes their July 16th opening reception, each artist will discuss her visual strategies and relationship to the image, surface, and seriality, in conversation with artist MM Yu and curator Yael Buencamino. From fissures and holes to depth, flatness, and repetition – these artists will share their process, influences, and commitment to the construction of the image.
