As we travel through life, we feel rough land on our feet, the wind on our faces, the purity of fresh water on our lips, and the warmth of fire on our skin. Since time immemorial, these four elements have served as the pillars of life which continue to provide us with wisdom critical to our continued existence and flourishing.
These components coalesce into a unified whole that can be described as the Soul of Nature, which this group show takes its name from. Artists Jhon Tejones, Adam Nacianceno, Earl Agustin, Emil Jay Guiang, Jeri Jumao-as, John Perry Pellejera, Kevin Ortega, and Lino Jamisola (Pipesman) seek to foster the innate human affinity for nature in all its forms and to harness the restorative power of the natural world to enhance the well-being and pleasure of human existence through art.
Being here, at peace with the world and with each other, there’s no better feeling. But how much longer will our dwindling planet let us bask in such opulence? After centuries, the earth has changed drastically, and continues to do so. In the face of overwhelming climate change facts, optimism is difficult. Yet, nature’s grandeur is something that can never be overlooked. The inherent worth of nature compels these artists to take action to ensure its survival in the way they know how–creating works of art.
