Just in time before the holidays, a collective of talents in collaboration with egYOLK gallery starts a revolutionary movement of toy art/ toy design industry in the Metro. This show’s purpose is to showcase artists of different roots of their art forms, to create a supportive space that welcomes genuine expression of one’s creativity and artistry, to build inspiration for new generations of artists.
Most of the people involved here once experienced “that” feeling where they can’t get their desired toy/action figures in their childhood due to different reasons, mostly financial. Fortunately, they were blessed with the skills and talents of creating their own toy that they can play with.
There are people who look at this as just a hobby and there are those who truly want to pursue this as a career. There are people who express themselves through the creation of these toys. Each piece has its own story, own history, own struggle, and each artist has their own way of expressing what they want to those around them. This is where the art of toys comes in.
