To behold the Wasteland is to know that, woven through figures frozen in violence and within ruins both inhabited and haunted, the emptiness is patient and eternal.
The tableaus emerge from greys of impending downpour, running through unwarranted hope and paralyzing misery in equal measure. There are arrows taking down some of those that dared to fly, while mourners in golden finery celebrate the lost. There are demons in stone masks spearing through foes and fellows alike, while a solitary soul crosses shivering into another unknown. And in the chaos of indefatigable conflict, a towering creator brings forth more in existence—for what purpose is uncertain. The night ends, and the next morning dawns yet the same.
Ruminating on thoughts of a universe without answers, the artist presents a reflection of the world at a loss. And no different from the empty-eyed masks that populate the panels, everyone—alone and in silence—meanders, falters, and fights through their own barren wilderness.
