In this visionary exhibition TR310, the esteemed artists Hermisanto, Rosales, and Achacruz embark on a profound exploration of the post-pandemic world, delving into the recesses of their own artistic identities while confronting the challenges of contemporary society. This triumvirate of talents expertly navigate the delicate interplay between their creative spirits and the material world, giving rise to a provocative showcase that defies convention.
Hermisanto’s mastery of acrylic on canvas is evident in his evocative pieces. In “The Promise of Life” (48×48″, 2022), subtle bursts of color emerge like ripples in still waters, invoking a sense of hope and renewal. “Perceptions and Dreams” (36×48″, 2022) presents a meticulous composition in black, white, and blue, reminiscent of the intricate subconscious machinery that straddles the liminal spaces of our existence.
Rosales, hailing from Tagum, expands the exhibition’s horizons through his inventive mixed media works. “Banyuhay ni Adan at Eva circa 2019” reinterprets the Biblical narrative in an angular, pre-coronavirus world where survival necessitates a metamorphosis in reverse. “Akwaryom ni Kambal” further explores the interplay of shape, size, and color, deftly examining the economies of scale that underpin our existence.
Achacruz elevates the showcase with his distinctive fusion of acrylic and spray paint. “Window” aspires to transcend the ordinary, serving as both a waking dream and a portal to another realm, its ethereal haze laden with potential secrets. “Untitled” is a striking blend of concept and abstraction, evoking the aesthetics of designer tattoos and hinting at the artist’s ventures into other visual disciplines.
