The #NationalMuseumPH in partnership with the Forest Foundation Philippines (FFP) will be conducting a seminar-workshop entitled Tuklas Kalikasan in Guiuan, Eastern Samar on 26 November to 2 December 2019.
This year’s Tuklas Kalikasan primarily aims to assess the biodiversity of a small island in Guiuan and conduct a lecture on basic cultural mapping of both natural and cultural heritage in the province. It as well intends to provide discussions on the current conservation measures of the region with the hope of producing a more comprehensive management plan of both natural and cultural heritage of the rest of Eastern Samar.
In the program, researchers from the technical divisions of the NMP as well as invited guests from Eastern Samar will conduct lectures that will cater students, educators, environmental officers, non-government organizations staff and other stakeholders to provide basic knowledge on assessment and conservation of specimens to further highlight Eastern Samar’s cultural and natural heritage. Lectures about the Church of the Immaculate Concepcion in Guiuan and the San Lorenzo de Martir Church Bells (Balangiga Bells) will also be part of the discussion.
