UKIT is a fine print exhibition focused on relief-print methods by 35 local artists with works from the 1950’s to the present.
An impressive survey, UKIT takes us from the roots of the modern art movement in the Philippines in the 1950’s, represented by National Artist Arturo Luz, Anita Magsaysay-Ho, and Rod. Paras-Perez, to contemporary works by established artists such as National Artist BenCab, Elmer Borlongan, and other printmakers who continue the discipline.
I am one of the invited printmakers showing works in this survey exhibition. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine that there is space for my work among artists I respect.
