■ DETAILS

This is the third Live Painting Show at TIU theater. This time, we will try to make the drama stage which centers painting that never try before. The story is “Malakas and Maganda” which is Philippines famous folktale and genesis. We will invite a magician named Bazzi from Japan and Filipino contemporary dance group, Daloy Dance Company and Filipino musicians take stage music. This story will be developed by collaboration among painting, magic, and music.

 

■ ARTIST PROFILE

―Marie Ikura 伊倉真理恵 Paint artist

Marie Ikura is a Japanese painter. She makes murals for establishments, and she also paints on the Kimono – Japanese traditional clothes and any clothes you wear in your life. Concept is “Art that you can wear & you can be the Art” .She also does live painting at some events. Some of her paintings were used in Japanese movies.

 

―Atsuko Yamagata 山形敦子 Paint artist

Painter/Comtemporary artist based in Manila, Philippines. She has had group and solo exhibitions in various galleries and museums in Philippines. She is being active to make a art bridge between Philippines and Japan through her artist activities. Her solo show in SM Baliwag, Bulacan province in 2015 was covered by major newspaper and TV channel. She is also known as a live painter, and has had her spontaneous performance in Philippines.

 

―Mgician Bazzi

2005 Debut as a professional magician at Magic Bar in Ginza, Tokyo. 2010 He showed about 1,000 stage in the year. 2012 He started to appear in TV drama and started to teach magic to celebrities for TV programs. 2014 He established his own company “Bazzi Promotion”. Now he is working extensively in stages, TV, lectures events and parties in Japan.

 

―Daloy Dance Company

Daloy Dance Company constantly snips away at the strands that define dance, theatre, improvisation and performance, and instead weaves a tapestry that allows for a design that is rich in possibilities. Formed by Artistic Director Ea Torrado in April 2014, Daloy has performed in venues such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines (for Ballet Philippines’ BlueMoon Series Homecoming Gala and WIFI Body Contemporary Dance Festival), PETA Theater Center (for Imaginarium – Multi-arts Festival of the Absurd), and in unconventional sites and events.
