The PPO continues with their 37th Concert Season with its second show, featuring violist Rey Casey Concepcion and guest conductor Michaël Cousteau. In cooperation with the Embassy of France, the show will highlight a tribute to French composer Hector Berlioz’ 150 years of music.

Concepcion, a fast emerging violist in the Philippines, won the First Prize for Viola Category in the National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) in 2007. He trained under the Philippine Research for Developing Instrumental Soloists program. Concepcion is the violist of the NAMCYA-winning group, Quartetto Espressivo. He is presently the assistant principal violist of the PPO.

Cousteau is a French conductor and has established himself internationally as a musician of unusual versatility. He has been conducting operatic and symphonic repertoire, ranging from the Baroque on period instruments to contemporary works. He has a strong interest in resurrecting forgotten musical gems.
