Visual artist Celeste Lecaroz is holding a one-time only seminar entitled “11 + 1 Art Discourse (My Quest for the Perfect Painting)” to be held on February 22, 2020, Saturday, at the Fernando B. Sena Buenas Artes Art Facility located at Unit C-1 Windsor Villas, 348 Tandang Sora Avenue corner Congressional Avenue Extension, Quezon City. The event will be from 1:00 to 5:00 pm.
Celeste is the one who created the spontaneous realism portrait of NBA legend Kobe Bryant that made rounds on social media recently and was put on exhibit at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. She has released the said image to the public domain to promote the legacy of the basketball star who passed away in a helicopter crash.
Last year, she had several exhibits. Among these were “Pastel Puro,” with US-based artist Gary Carabio; “Center and Periphery,” a collection of spontaneous realism paintings inspired by the historical photographs from the library of historian Dr. Bernardita Churchill; and “Honoring Filipino Tycoons and Entrepreneurs,” a showcase commissioned by Hi-Cool Engineering of over 50 spontaneous realism portraits of the country’s foremost business leaders. For 2019 alone, she painted 125 art works.
The upcoming seminar is part of Celeste’s advocacy to promote the importance of visual arts and share her passion. “It’s for all artists and art enthusiasts. It is three and a half hours of introspection and discovery.” The artist has prepared exercises for the attendees and will give a live spontanrealismus painting demo.
