Brush with Artists’ episode 4: Nature & Music with #ElectricYouth exhibiting artists Ivy Pangilinan, Karren Lopez, and Lhean Storm.
They’ll be talking about how the nature and music influence their visual styles and artistic processes, and we’d love for you to chime in too!
Ivy Pangilinan (b. 1990) is a visual artist and graphic designer whose body of work includes spirited abstract paintings of remarkable colors, textured marks, thick solid strokes, and thin wobbly scratches —a dichotomy between the rules of design and the carefreeness of abstract expressionism.
Lhean Storm is an artist known for her signature Psytrance-influenced style that draws her audience into a dreamy, mesmerized state. Like the music genre recognized for its high-tempo beats, her work is comprised of high-energy, richly textured, intuitively created paintings. Lhean Storm enjoys creating around this hypnotic and transcendent energy, inspiring the spontaneous movements of her pen or brush.
CabNov (b. 1990) is a multidisciplinary artist who shifts between the Philippines and New Zealand. Her body of works are often inspired by the visual fragmentation of the lo-fi music she produces; presenting psychedelic trippy imagery that pulls people in. CabNov also draws inspiration from Nerds candies, Maori tattoos, Biology, Botany, influences of folklore, mythologies, and pop culture.
