Cid Reyes is a multi-awarded. prolific art critic and author of National Artists. As an artist, he has held over 20 exhibitions. Cid studied Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, Italy; as well as Art History courses at the City Lit Institute in London.
A champion of Philippine abstraction, Cid practices what he preaches. Shifting between action painting and geometric art, he has explored a variety of approaches and techniques.
In “RHUMBA”, Cid sets a network of geometric shapes into motion, dance-like in some works, but all in a precise balance and harmony between form and color, and deployed in strategic placement. The result is a vibrant and vibrating pictorial space that delights the eye and uplifts mood and spirit.
Cid Reyes allows and encourages geometry to speak its own unique language.
