“Common Ground”. Driven by his sense of patriotism, Mel Sabariza showcases his subject by creating architectural structures symbolizing the backbone of our nation, the people. These assiduous members of our society manifest compassion for one another with the acts of bayanihan or community spirit in order to achieve a common goal. Different walks of life can be gleaned through his expressive display of neon colors resembling positivity in Filipino culture; while interconnected cables signifies the lifeline of the people from our nation’s governance.
The “Nearing Dawn” elates in perceiving the gift of hope and prosperity; a humbling obra that unites a nation in achieving a laborious objective and reaching a common ground between the government and its people.
