“The secret of getting ahead is getting started” – Mark Twain
They say the beginning is always the hardest, when starting a new endeavor many factors come into play why most of us are afraid to put our plans into action. First there is the fear of failure, what if I fail? What will others say? What others think about you is none of your business, what’s important is that you gave it your all and you will have no regrets. Failure makes us stronger in all aspects of our lives. Then there is the feeling of uncertainty, of not really having decided to fully commit to something that will require your resources. When you want something, you have to commit yourself to it, then you become like an arrow shooting towards your goal.
It started as a concept of putting up an art gallery in the southern part of Metro Manila, then came the execution part where we placed the small pieces together to form the greater picture. During this process there were a lot of challenges, but that did not stop us from putting our plans into action. We took the huge task of conceptualization to execution, broke it down into small steps that we can focus on one at a time.
In Breaking Ground, we are doing something that has never been done before. We gathered together visual artists who are well-known in their respective fields, and put them together in one show that is the first of its kind in Molino, Bacoor, Cavite. These artists have been with us from the start, when we were still trying to make a name for ourselves and it is with their help that we are able to achieve greater things. Breaking Ground is our way of saying thank you to them, they are the foundation of our operation.
Breaking Ground will open on Thursday, 7PM, January 22, 2015, and will run until February 15, 2015 at G&C Art Gallery, Molino Road, Molino III, Bacoor Cavite. It will feature artworks of Glenn Cagandahan, Khristina Manansala, David Justimbaste, Lino Acasio, John Perry Pellejera, Aldron Anchinges, AJ Manuel, Fernando Jovellano, Norlie Meimban, Felix Jesus Meimban IV, Angelito Balmes, Waldz Villanueva, Joselito Jandayan, Demi Padua, Jeff Dahilan, Ryann Braulio, Emmanuel Nim, Rufo Bong Sunga, Fitz Herrera, Carlo Talion, Ben Cruz, Oying Madrillejos, Melvin Guirhem, Rey Conmigo, Salvador Sierra, Fred Caedo, Joeyboi Galang, Brando Bati, Oscar Magos and Jojo Garcia.
