Joe LaRue, a multidisciplinary creative professional whose career began in high school, using the original version of Adobe Illustrator to design theatre posters alongside his early acting pursuits. Today, he is a stage and film director, video editor, photographer, graphic designer, and theatrical projection designer. He spent time in New York City running a small theatre company in the East Village before driving across the country to Los Angeles to pursue dreams of working in film and television. His short films Loaded and Adobo have screened at numerous international festivals. He has directed the web series Dog Days and Pet Peeves, and has also edited acclaimed Nigerian feature films When Love Happens, Lunch Time Heroes, and When Love Happens Again. He serves as a producer, dramaturg, and projection designer with Los Angeles based theatre company Mixed eMotion Theatrix. He holds an MFA in Acting from the University of Florida.

Robert LaRue, retired high school teacher from Colorado, USA, living in Angeles City, Pampanga with my Kapampangan wife of 52 years. I have a handful of degrees and dabble in Greek, French, Kapampangan and a touch of Tagalog. I’ve taught from elementary to college, both in the US and here. I have a background in photography and film, and I edit books for academics and creatives, including several on Kapampangan culture. I’m also an experienced magician.

In film, I have written two award winning shorts that have played festivals, and I co-wrote and co-directed one feature film, The African Guest. I was the Extras Casting Director for more than 400 actors in two feature films. I taught high school International Baccalaureate Film classes. After winning a local film competition three years in a row, my film students were banned from competition and moved into consultant positions. I have appeared in one Philippine film, Mercury is Mine, but if you blink, you’ll miss my award winning performance, all two seconds of it.
