“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”
– Albert Einstein

Governments all over the world have halted travels locally and internationally to prevent further spread of the virus. The places we openly visit suddenly become inaccessible, much more the far-off places we planned on touring around.

This exhibition is my reflection on the places I have visited and plan on visiting. Being a wanderlust and a nature lover, I paint these pictures as an impression of beautiful places without people. Inhabited yet free from clutter of tourist and vacationist even for several months, these places become like pristine and picturesque paradises. Covid19 might have affected us in many ways unimaginable, yet it healed nature to a great extent thus benefiting the ecosystem in energy renewal.

For city-dwellers like us, the lockdown did not only gift us clearer skies free of smog and pollution but from it we can better appreciate the full power of nature encompassing us. The change of perspective taught many of us to become more aware of our surroundings and respecting each and everyone’s personal space.

What if the discipline we learned in this period will not just be momentary but become a culture? Maybe my paintings will not just be an alternate world free of clutter but a preserved and renewed environment for the next generations to enjoy.
