Chaotic Harmony of All Obscure and Silent. Expressing one’s uncertainty thru art is a chaos. A habit-forming fascination towards vibrant and eye-catching colors that is deeply rooted from modern day pursuit. We cannot deny that the influence of contemporary media is capable of distracting our judgment. In everything striking we see, a spiteful reality is behind it. The skies may look azure and the clouds will always look like heavenly white, but behind that is a thinning layer of the earth’s skin. Sometimes, you are unable to differentiate what is at par by your own standards and principles, thus you get lost with all the influences of the present circumstances. We accept the beauty we see in things because it is simply pleasing to the eye — even though in reality, the beauty that we see is the effect of man’s transgression. This exhibition expresses the artist’s irrational perception thru art which he considers responsible for his sanity.

For the past few years, Georjanno Abenoja became dedicated for creating art, rooted from his fond childhood hobby of drawing. However, he never thought that he would be able to express this formally. He grew up in his hometown, Tarlac City, and there he started sculpting clay from dug up bug mounds to doodling cartoons from television shows and finally to producing artworks in a proper studio. Throughout the years, he was exposed to variety of practices: from production design, art installations, building murals, art exhibitions and to creating concept art for character designs. With all the experiences he gained, he became more and more drawn to sculpting, however his love for painting still remained. With that, he decided to combine his fascination for both painting and sculpting in one form and it became his therapeutic way of conveying the outbursts of his imagination and emotion.

Georjanno Abenoja (b. 1989, Tarlac City)

Abenoja is a young painter, concept artist, character designer, and illustrator whose aesthetic was nurtured by his inclinations for surrealist images of mutants, monsters, and cyborg babies. He is a practicing artist who graduated in FEATI university 2011, Bachelor of fine arts Major in Painting. Abenoja is currently the Associate Designer for LabNew, where he creates and executes projects in production design, installation, and sculpture. He has been New’s constant collaborator in various exhibitions like the Pasig City mural, The Kult gallery, and even the alternative universe they created for the local series BAGANI. In his time of leisure, captures in his paintings the psychedelic and bizarre worlds that reside in his overly active imagination. In almost all of his work, he intentionally puts every pigment into his painting to be able to take advantage of the infinite number of color difference, that can be created by playing with its value and intensity. At a glance it seems very disturbing — the effect of bright vibrating colors, that display the subject sparkling and brilliant, as if trying to compete with each other in a dancing sort of way.
