Theater Arts Program
The Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts program develops the individual artistic abilities of students for the stage, just as it immerses them in various aspects of stage production, towards building their competencies both as solitary artists and as integral parts of the collective whole that is the theater. The program exposes its students to learning from practitioners of various aspects of theater-making, providing them with the skills to work in both the production and artistic parts of the process.
At the heart of the Bachelor of Arts in Theater Arts program is the belief in the value of collaboration in the theater, where the goal is not just to provide students with the skills needed to make theater, but more importantly, to provide them the space to learn-by-doing-theater, engaging in its processes, and building the necessary relationships towards its making.
Production Design Program
As the only training ground for production designers in the country, Benilde’s Production Design program seeks to capitalize on the growth of this field and create an in-depth program of study that will give students a solid foundation to work in today’s live and motion picture industry. The Program provides students with a multitude of foundation courses that will equip them with the knowledge, skills and facility to effectively communicate their ideas and processes through visual and auditory forms intended for the stage and screen. Students conduct dramaturgical research and produce artworks as a means to apply fundamental theories, concepts and techniques. Through coursework and practice, students experience a position of responsibility to create, examine and collaborate under various theater and film productions.
