Super typhoons, extreme weather conditions, major disasters- it won’t stop. Bad news, right? Climate change is real and it happens now. And The Philippines is a very vulnerable country to suffer the effects of global warming. The good news? We can prepare for this. We can learn ways to mitigate and adapt. We can strengthen our voices!
For 2023, Black Canvas’ SACLAW continues to offer an arts for development camp focusing on climate action. This project is made possible under the mentorship of Black Canvas founder Abner Torres Delina Jr. (ACC Alumni/Global Lab Fellow) who is chosen as one of the International Teaching Artist Collaborative (ITAC) IMPACT: Climate Artist of 2022-2024.
For its second year, Black Canvas, with the support of ITAC, Cadiz City LGU and various partners, offers SACLAW Camp 2023 (Social Actions Community Leadership Arts Workshop) on Sep 29 – Oct 1 at Cadiz City, Philippines, providing free opportunities to Visayas-based artists, leaders and educators.
