The term personal space is referred to as the physical distance between two people in a social, family, or work environment. To give more depth to this term, think of personal space as the area between your physical body and an invisible shield or bubble around you. However, each personal space for every individual differs in size and distance when it comes to their interaction with people around them.
To make it short, we can say that personal spaces define how much we know a person and how carefree we can be around them. When a person trusts another person, their personal space shrinks and they allow the other person to be as near as possible even when they fully invade their premises.
This exhibition would like to take the essence of personal spaces after unexpected scenarios such as a pandemic. Answering the question, how will one learn how to trust again would be the main goal of the whole show.
As artists, it is our goal to see the best in down times and negative scenarios. To be able to shed hope and inspire people to remember how to connect with one another would truly be a great objective after this experience. Hoping that when everything had been mended, people would still value and reconsider the links they had with people they were comfortable with and remember to allow people they trust to sometimes invade their personal spaces when they want to.
