Enon de Belen

Enon is a self-taught, multi-disciplinary artist from Angono, Rizal. She is a registered nurse and practiced for a year immediately after she graduated. Looking for a greener pasture, she worked as a call center agent on-off for six years but knew it was a dead-end job.
At the age of 26, while still working in an office, she taught herself to paint with watercolor by studying references online. She has been a hobbyist since 2013, painting subjects from landscapes, s still-life, and portraits.

In 2016, she started a personal project to paint every day for a year to hone her skills and focused on painting mainly portrait subjects. The same year, she took a leap of faith and quit her call center job to become a full-time artist. She conducted several watercolor workshops, sharing her knowledge of painting in watercolor in cafes around Metro Manila, Cebu, and Davao. In 2019, her dream of having a solo show happened in Nova Gallery Manila in Makati entitled “And It Begins,” combining watercolor and acrylic on canvas. She also got invited to several group shows with Nova Gallery, Art in the Park, and Art For Everyone.

In 2020, equipped with the disciplines she learned from different mediums, she tried sculpting with clay as her visions grew into three-dimensional versions of her paintings. In the current year, she continues to practice sculpting female figures and painting ethereal female portraits evoking feelings of calm and hope. If she’s not holding a brush or messy hands with clay, you will see her playing with her three cats or catching her fangirling as an OT7 BTS ARMY.
