Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas (Mulat Theater) and Kontemporaryong Gamelan Pilipino (Kontra-GaPi)
presents a two-part concert:
HIBLA NG LANGIT: Ritwal ng SInuyaman
is a puppet dance drama interpretation of the Agusan Manobo legend Sinuyaman, their traditional cloth. Several aspects of the Agusan Manobos will also be presented, such as their rituals, chants and dances. Music will be provided by Kontra-GaPi while both three-dimensional and shadow puppets will be utilized by the Teatrong Mulat ng Pilipinas.
HIRAYA: Hiwaga ng Musika’t Sayaw
the second part of the program, is a presentation of new concert numbers by Kontra-GaPi. Included are newly arranged folk songs, a three-movement number, dances influenced by our indigenous tribes, and chants from different parts of the Philippines. This concert is in celebration of our 25th anniversary year.
Tickets are at 100 PHP for UP Students and Faculty
and 200 PHP for non-UP audiences
