Jone Reaño Sibugan

A young artist with promising talent and vision, Jone Reaño Sibugan is magna cum laude graduate of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, with a degree in BFA Painting. Using oil and soot on canvas or paper, his works currently revolve with the dystopian mystical landscapes of using blown-up mushrooms as as signifier for the soul or various spiritual entities.⁣ Jone’s subjects provoke the idea of being human in haunting dystopian realities–vulnerable to pain, can succcumb to fear and unknowing of the future–entrapping themselves in the borders of hope and duty, slowly navigating into the unknown.
