Kasalukuyan

14th Edition of CANVAS’ annual Art for Development Project

November 15 to 25, 2022
Artists Reception
November 18, Friday | 4 PM
Parola: UP Fine Arts Gallery
Diliman, Quezon City

Each year, we invite selected artists to respond, with an artwork, to a theme of particular social relevance.

The theme for this year is KASALUKUYAN (“The Present”).

This show provides a broad spectrum of reflections on THE NOW – from where some find themselves personally, to impressions on the state of the nation, to expressions of current dreams or fears.

In the coming months, we will be using these images to create outdoor art banners, to be installed once more, and for the first time since the pandemic, in pedestrian-friendly venues, including at the BenCab Museum in Baguio, and in Batangas at the site of CANVAS’ future Tumba-Tumba Children’s Museum of Philippine Art.
