Two worlds collide within Dr. Renato Cheng’s works, a convergence of artistic influences that merge seamlessly. The emotions projected by flower, water, and sky find voice through the intense colors and contrasts that he applies almost solidly on the canvas. His art reveals his gentle nature and the profound intensity born from the fusion of two of modern art’s strongest influences: Impressionism and Expressionism.
Dr. Renato Cheng is an artist who has diligently honed his oil painting technique for half a century. While he pursued a path in medicine as per his father’s wishes, his true passion for art never waned. In the shadows, he continued to paint, dedicating at least one to two hours every day to the craft he holds most dear.
The first solo show of 2025, Landscape Memories by Dr. Renato Cheng, presented by Nami Art Gallery, officially opens to the public on January 18, Saturday, at ARTISTSPACE located at Ground Level, Ayala Museum Annex, Makati Avenue corner De La Rosa Street, Greenbelt Park, Makati City, 1224, Philippines (across Greenbelt 5 ground floor entrance, near Balenciaga and Lusso)! It will be on view daily until February 4, 2025.
