At first glance, The Naked Lights may come off as an elitist, goody two shoes type of band that never had its own rags to riches story. Life is no fairy tale, but its members - Mike Ducusin on bass, Dolf Candano on drums, Neil Tin on lead guitars, and Ymi Castel on rhythm guitars and vocals - knew what they wanted to do, when they wanted to do it: play their own band of music, and, well, rock. 

Call it intertwined fate, but the band’s formation did not simply happen overnight. Ymi and Neil met through an online musician’s forum and decided to meet up to see if they could work as a team. When these two looked for other members, Mike and Dolf eventually followed suit which led to the completion of their modest four-piece band. To put it simply, The Naked Lights was born.

Bands like Bloc Party, Metric, Minus The Bear, Blood Red Shoes and Yeah Yeah Yeahs stand as gurus to these light bulbs, fusing disco rock and punk to produce a distinct sound that would want to make any listener bob his or her head while driving. Nothing but good 'ole love, hate, and, pardon the frankness, sex-related lyrics to make anyone want to fall, hate, drive and the whole nine yards.
