MANILA – Classical singer Nolyn Cabahug passed away on Monday, just days before his scheduled benefit concert.
In a message reposted on Facebook by her friends, Marian Cabahug Unterberg thanked everyone for praying for her father, saying he “has been called to sing and give praise to our Creator personally.”
Cabahug was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure in 2009 and had to undergo a kidney transplant.
The singer was brought to the ICU of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute late last month, prompting his friends to organize a benefit concert.
The show, billed as “Bayanihan Para Sa Tenor ng Bayan”, was scheduled on Thursday, November 5, at the International Baptist Church Manila in Makati City.
Dulce, Beverly Salviejo and Richard Merk, among others, were listed as performers in the benefit show.
