Contemporary visual artists are acutely aware of the crucial time that we inhabit. They have continuously sought to capture that ambiguous, non-linear space between beginnings and endings. Tying his spiritual knowledge to the knowledge of the world, Lawrence Cervantes returns to Galerie Stephanie with his solo exhibition titled Rejuvenation. In this series, the Bulacan-based artist depicts the cycle of destruction to restoration–a continuation from his evolving narratives present in his past solo exhibitions “Origins”, “Take Over”, and “Reset”.
Breathing vigor and life on previously somber canvases, the twenty artworks humbly presented in Rejuvenation depict Cervantes’ subjects’ rituals and reflective reverence–a visual breather amidst a world beyond our limited factual understanding.
