This Baji Arts Collective presents the Baji Arts Exhibit 2024 – Hulagway: A Self-Portrait Showcase.
The theme of the exhibition is centered around exploring one’s inner self in a deep and personal way, allowing for a lot of room for creativity and self-expression. Artists are encouraged to delve into their innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences to create artwork that reflects their true selves. They may also choose to present a distorted or abstracted version of their identity.
Some artists may choose to be more revealing, laying bare their vulnerabilities and inner workings. Others may prefer to be more obfuscatory, using symbolism, metaphor, or abstraction to convey their inner world – showing a lot, but revealing little.
The idea of the self as dynamic and ever-evolving opens up endless possibilities for creative expression, including but not limited to themes of growth, change, identity, and the passage of time.
Overall, the 2024 Baji Arts Exhibit promises to be a rich tapestry of introspection, creativity, and self-discovery. Each artist will bring their own unique perspective and approach in introducing themselves to us, resulting in a diverse and thought-provoking gallery of self-portraits.

The exhibition opens on March 10, 2024, at 3 pm, and runs until March 24, 2024, at the 4th Floor of Alturas Mall, Tagbilaran City. The event is supported by Alturas Mall, the Bohol Arts and Cultural Heritage (BACH) Council, and the Center for Culture and Arts Development (CCAD) of the Provincial Government of Bohol.
