This June 27th 2024, Jungle Gym Play Laboratory presents its first-ever staged reading of Qui Nguyen’s critically acclaimed play, “SHE KILLS MONSTERS.” Directed by Tara Jamora Oppen and co-produced by Sightlines Actors’ Space and The Playbook Club, this high-octane D&D adventure heralds the values of truth, play, and radical acceptance. It reframes one’s grief as a process of rediscovering love and understanding for someone, too — even after they’re gone.

Jungle Gym Play Laboratory is a playground for developing multi-arts performances and collective creations. We explore the intersections of art, games, and social justice, fostering spaces for playful, regenerative, and participatory practices.

Sightlines Actors’ Space is an international acting school and creative home for actors. We aim to bridge the arts through observation, engagement, expression, and collaboration.

The Playbook Club is a grassroots production house of artists and actors staging theater productions, producing short films, and hosting weekly script reading nights. Alongside handling their pool of talents, they provide casting for films, music videos, theater productions, and ads/TVCs.

This rehearsal process and staged reading aims to bring all the values and dreams of these three communities to life. Catch “SHE KILLS MONSTERS” at 2PM and 6PM on June 27, at Tanghalang Pagsanghan (Dulaang Sibol).
