Mindanao artist Bayang Barrios, a lumad from Agusan del Sur, has recently recorded a song she dedicates to the “Lumad children, their schools and communities.”
Pangarap Ngayong Pasko can be downloaded from iTunes and Spotify.
The League of Authors of Public Interest Songs or Lapis, said the song is “about encouraging everyone, may it be Christmas or not, to care more to those in need – such as children affected by conflict, and invites us all to join in advancing ways to resolve these problems.”
In Pangarap Ngayong Pasko, Bayang Barrios, a full-blooded Manobo native from Bunawan, Agusan del Sur, collaborates with House of Tunes’ Christine Bendebel. The song was arranged by Teddy Katigbak, and produced by Mike Villegas.
“All proceeds from the downloads will be donated to organizations that provide services for the Lumad children and their communities,” Lapis said.
Bendebel’s note on the song reads:
Maraming Salamat Po. God bless us all.
