It is that urge to pick the delicate flower. A curious admiration that may turn into an obsession: like an octopus, beguiling, throwing in one tentacle, then two, then three. It wraps around you and pulls you into extreme depths.
And then this longing may pass.
Ebbing and flowing and returning in a strange new form. It is the unstoppable force that propels life; protecting while endangering. It is ceaseless, from the onset of instinct to the last moments of being.
Or is it life itself?
The artists featured in the exhibit Insatiable let desire be, as it is, in all its stench and glory. They evaluate the cost of being insatiable by laying out all that desire has created, held onto, and destroyed.
