Keiko Yokoyama

Keiko Yokoyama (b. 1959) paints charming idyllic scenes of dolls, stuffed animals, and young children, working on the idea that toys and objects from childhood can transcend borders. Children often relate with them in creating a different reality; Yokoyama captures these wanderings on canvas. She began her career as an illustrator in 2005, then was awarded the Mori Art Museum Exhibition Award in 2009. In 2012, Keiko mounted her first solo exhibition at Gallery So, and was one of the finalists in the 2013 Frontier Artists Contest Exhibition held by the SOMPO Museum of Art, Japan. She currently exhibits at Toho Art Gallery, Tokyo.
