Anette is the embodiment of bravery and strength. For the past 8 years, she has been undergoing dialysis since experiencing renal failure during the birth of her only child. She is also living her second life after a fatal heart attack almost took her away from her family a month after child birth. She has also recently been diagnosed with a weak heart. You could say that she has been through more life-changing experiences than most people may want in their own lifetime. However, it is because of these experiences that this exhibit happened. Rather than stop Anette, they became inspirations for her to fulfill a lifelong dream.
Anette has always been interested in art. As an only child of a single mother, she would sketch and design clothes in her grandmother’s dress shop. This led her to try different mediums as she grew up. Venturing into water color as a teen then to oil paintings as an adult. Her art would always be inspired by experiences that have moved her or have made an impact in her life.
This exhibit is not just the dream realized for Anette. It as also a statement that she will not let anything stop her. She is a wife, a mother, an entrepreneur, a survivor, and an artist.
