Kanto Gallery Presents:
“MOJOKO X TEEBS”
Date 30th May 2014
“Mojoko X Teebs” brings together two artists from east and west, both heavily involved in culture creation via their own personal projects.
Mtendere Mandowa (aka TEEBS) is growing heavyweight on the Electronic Music scene in USA working with labels such as ‘Brainfeeder’ and ‘My Hollow Drum’ Collectives. His artwork is reflective of his musical style and philosophy, layering, collaging, illustrating and remixing images to create meditative and minimalist soundscapes on canvas.
Iranian born artist Mojoko was raised in Hong Kong, and now based in Singapore – producing work which mashes up cultures from East & West. Reacting to the bombardment of images of todays visual culture, he reworks and spits back mutations of the glossy pop, advertising world, into artworks which use the same brand of maximalism.
Join us for this unique meeting of minds in the quiet quarters of the Kanto Artist Run Space located at the Collective at 7274 Malugay Street. Amidst the sprawl of urban Manila, the evening will feature a plethora of artwork, showcasing the hidden peace and pandemonium that lurks within us all.
The show will open on May 30th featuring additional musical performances and will run until June 8th
The opening will be followed by an after party at the Black Market with TEEBS performing.
