Artery Art Space proudly presents “Overgrown Stories” by Chae Eun Rhee, featuring a suite of vibrantly colored paintings providing insights on landscape as ground for imaginative possibilities in search of the ideal, while capturing complex representations of growth, renewal, beauty, and truth which it collides with in the backdrop of everyday realities.
Overgrown Stories is Rhee’s first solo show in Manila while participating in the Artery Art Space Residency Program. Recently she was invited to the Vermont Studio Center (USA) as a fellowship recipient funded by the Milton Avery Foundation, and in 2016 Rhee will be a fellow resident at the Yaddo Residency program in New York (USA). Rhee took her BFA and MFA degrees at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (USA), and has shown in Seoul (KR), Los Angeles CA, New York NY, Chicago IL (USA), and in Manila (PI).
