Once more, Philippine Fashion Gala slays the runway for Fashion Industry. As they turn the spotlight to Philippine culture – Lokal.
Explosions of norms, aesthetics and creativity of Filipino designers will be featured starring designers from their respective Regions such as Luzon : Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Bicol, Mindoro, Palawan, Nueva Ecija, Ifugao, Quezon, Ilocos Sur, Benguet, Baguio, Leyte, Metro Manila ; Visayas: Aklan ; Mindanao: Davao and Sulu ; Africa and Taiwan.
The theme of the event aims to stabilize and further what and how Made in the Philippines could be. Designers were inspirited with cultures, tribes, history and Philippine arts. Veritably, some garments translated with the use of local fabrics such as piña and abaca; some compacted with patriotic symbolism like Philippine Peso, deities and Philippine mythology; and some fused the traditonal filipiniana into modern and timely approach. Rest assured that we evaluated all the concept of our lòkal designers – that will inspire, rehabilitate and build an impetus to the Philippine Arts.
