RM de Leon

 

Ramon Manuel “RM” de Leon is a renowned visual artist born in 1960 in Manila. He studied at the University of the Philippines, College of Fine Arts, majoring in painting from 1979 to 1984. De Leon has held numerous solo exhibitions, showcasing his artwork at various galleries in the Philippines.

He has received various awards and distinctions throughout his career, including the Thirteen Artists Awardee from the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 1990 and being the 1st Filipino Awardee of the Vermont Studio Center’s Studio Arts Program for Painting in 1997, sent by former CCP visual arts director, Honrado Fernandez to Toyama Japan as Filipino instructor representative to the children’s international festival, and participant of Manila Berlin Exchange Program under the hospices of Pinaglabanan Galleries in Manila.

He has also participated in many group exhibitions, displaying his art alongside other talented artists. His work has been featured in exhibitions like “Tribute” at the Cultural Center of the Philippines in 2014 and “The Art of Rediscovering” at ManilArt 2013, among others. His artistic journey spans a wide range of styles and themes, making him a notable figure in the Philippine art scene.
