Symphonic Sunsets at Makiling
The Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) will be joined by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra (ABSCBNPO) and the Orchestra of the Filipino Youth (OFY) under the batons of Gerard Salonga & Olivier Ochanine in a momentous joint concert & conference at the CCP. Guest Artists will include Filipino concert pianist Jovianney Emmanuel Cruz, Taiwanese pianist Chi-Ying Hung, NAMCYA 1st Prize Winner in Marimba Thristan ‘Tum-Tum’ Mendoza, singers Jade Riccio & Malvin Beethoven Macasaet, and introducing 12-year-old pianist Brian Berino.
The concert will be annotated by Jamie Bernstein – director of the film documentary ‘Crescendo: the Power of Music’ & the daughter of the legendary quintessential Artist Leonard Bernstein, and Tricia Tunstall – author of ‘Changing Lives: Gustavo Dudamel, El Sistema, & the Transformative Power of Music’. The historic concert will feature a vast array of works written by the great Classical Music Masters from the 18th Century until today, from Beethoven to Bernstein, from traditional to popular.
