Tom Russ is a relative newcomer to the art scene, but he brings with him a wealth of experience in a variety of artistic disciplines, including the performing arts, media, film, and visual arts. His works are both his expression and his advocacy.
He had a nomadic upbringing in Mindanao, exposing him to various cultures, arts, and traditions. He received his diploma in Communication Studies, with a concentration in Theater Arts, which helped him hone his talents and skills.
He is finishing his Master’s Degree in Film at the University of the Philippines Film Institute, UP-Diliman.
Tom navigates between the worlds of performing arts, film, and visual arts as he attempts to find his true calling. Until very recently, he finally found his voice as an artist. He plans to integrate his varied experiences into new works spanning across media.
He may be fresh to the scene, but the possibilities for his work are enormous, and his works thus far have been bold.
