The Ocular Gallery invites you to a group exhibit of contemporary artists.
The featured pieces are collectively inspired by the theme “Versus Self.”
The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically changed people’s lives. The health risks, business closures, and loss of livelihood have been tough for most everyone’s social, physical, and mental well-being.
With isolation or limited socializing come anxiety and angst over an uncertain future. And that state of mind that is focused on its own universe – the self – becomes a fertile ground for questions, fear, self-doubt, and unease over the human condition.
For some, however, it becomes an ideal space to realize one’s strengths and to thrive despite challenges.
“Versus Self” captures that internal strife and beckons the viewer to make his own introspection – and perhaps see his true self in the process.
May this also serve as an invitation not only to support our local artists, but also to help out those who are suffering from the effects of the recent calamities that recently hit different places in our country.
Ocular Gallery has pledged to donate 10% of its total sales from this exhibit to the typhoon victims in Cagayan and Catanduanes.
We may, at one time or another, experience “Man versus Self” moments in our personal lives; but we can always choose to be “Man for Others.” This is one opportunity to show some love for those who need it the most during these trying times.
