March 3 – March 21

REROUTE is an exhibit that resituates site-specific works. Particular interest is placed on works that were created for non-traditional art venues and bring it to a traditional art venue (not galleries/museums/theater).
The exhibit will feature works from “Listening Terminals” (February 2015), “Transi(en)t Manila” (November 2014) and “Hantong” (December 2014).
All works in these projects were new when they were first staged. Except the 3 sound works, all works have been exhibited only once before REROUTE.
More than an exhibit, REROUTE is a created circumstance for conversation, as it tries to extend the process of creation (or artistic production) beyond the first exhibition.
A discussion will be scheduled on March 7, 2014, Saturday at 4pm with the following talking points:
1. Can the site-specificity of the work still be recognized after resituating?
2. What does it say about space as a staging ground with space as part of the work?
Show opens on 3 March 4pm at the 3F Galleries and West Porch of the museum. For walk through and attendance to the discussion, please email dyraola@gmail.com and stay tuned to this events page for updates.
