Be acquainted with this year’s UP Gawad Plaridel recipient Bonifacio Ilagan with a free documentary screening.

Watch the 2017 GMA-7 documentary made for the 45th anniversary of the declaration of martial law under the Marcos regime entitled Alaala.

The network TV-aired documentary follows the journey of Bonifacio Ilagan from his days as an idealistic youth in a tumultuous year in Philippine history to his eventual capture and torture under the military. In dramatized recollections, Alden Richard appears as the young Bonifacio.

Established by the UP College of Mass Communication, the annual UP Gawad Plaridel recognizes Filipino media practitioners who have excelled in any of the media and performed with the highest level of professional integrity in the interest of public service.

The screening special comes with Sinipi kay Boni – a newly finished documentary short subject written and directed by UP Film Institute faculty Choy Pangilinan on Bonificio Ilagan’s creative media practice.

Admission is free and open to the public on a first come, first served basis (45 seats only).
