“All Lies Under the Sky, a solo exhibition by Kim Hamilton Sulit at Provenance Art Gallery adheres to the melancholic cue on life and death as an expected eventuality. Continuing his creative foray with mortality, Sulit uses diverse bespoke materiality, this time he reverts to churning out acrylic paintings with charcoal and LED lights.
Often using art history as sound board for visuality, Sulit is versed with powerful imagery painted by the neglected old masters as take off points. Honoring them, he reacts as a show of force to canvas. Never negating their significance, he acknowledges them by impressing upon us his new figuration with loaded stories often eschewing the contemporary that value humanity as ethereal and beautiful.”
