AMA NAMIN — A New Children’s Prayer Song From Little Mustard Seed

On the feast day of Saint Joseph, Little Mustard Seed joyfully launches AMA NAMIN, a brand new children’s chorale rendition of the Lord’s Prayer. The beautiful melody is lifted from Little Mustard Seed’s mother-and-son duet, “Our Father”, from their children’s prayer songs album, GLORY BE, released in 2023.

Why produce a Tagalog version and why AMA NAMIN? “This is probably THE most beloved prayer of many Filipinos. Ama Namin is such a powerful and perfect prayer—a whole torrent of grace flows from these words which had been taught by no less than our Lord Jesus Himself,” says composer, K. Sheerin Go. “When the whole congregation sings the Our Father during Holy Mass, I am reminded of the spiritual bond we all share as brothers and sisters in Christ. Yes, there is a special joy in listening to children and youth sing the Lord’s Prayer, but there is an even deeper grace in joining them in song with child-like hearts. For when we humbly pray this from the heart, Jesus unites us to Himself and lifts our whole being to the presence of the heavenly Father who lovingly embraces us not as mere creatures but His very own children.”

Little Mustard Seed’s AMA NAMIN features the endearing voices of Kayla Coloma, Noah Echevarria, Vera Echevarria, Franco Langas, and Alaena Reese Panesa. The delightful chorale and musical arrangement was crafted by Gino Torres, with special guitar accompaniment from Lionel Valdellon.
