If you’ve been itching to try your hand at writing stories, poems, or memoirs but don’t quite know where to start, then this course is for you. Basic Creative Writing will not only explore fundamental writing skills and techniques but also provide participants with opportunities to read, think, and critique as writers. They will experience producing very short drafts then developing them into completed work. Participants will learn to find inspiration in both the extraordinary and the mundane, and to cultivate a writer’s sensitivity to language and imagery as conveyors of meaning.
