BLVCK Project : PROSTHETICS WORKSHOP

Learn the application of simulated injury, wounds, burns, bruises, cuts, and scars in our basic prosthetics application classes, and create a full-face appliance in our more advanced course of monster-making!

 

SFX 100.1 – SPECIAL MAKE-UP EFFECTS INTRODUCTION

June 6, 7, and 12 (27 hours)

Introduction to special effects make-up including researching reference material, anatomy and physiology, and understanding injury simulation. Completely hands-on lessons on directly applied (two-dimensional) and molded (three-dimensional) make-up effects of different types and degrees of cuts, wounds, bruises, burns, and scars. There are no prerequisites for this course.

 

PROS 200 – MONSTER-MAKING: ZOMBIE

June 20, 21, 27, and 28 (36 hours)

Who doesn’t love zombies, right? Learn molding and sculpting of a prosthetics character and create your own full-face appliance. This course covers the A to Z of monster-making, starting with creature design to finishing with teeth staining. from preparation of materials to proper ethics with working with a live model. There are no prerequisites for this class but we advise students without background in sculpting and blending to take SFX 100.1 before taking this course.

 

Through our learning process, the student will not only acquire the necessary skills needed to work in the entertainment industry as a prosthetics artist, he/she will also gain insight in the creative and practical challenges of FX artists in the country.
