This exhibit symbolizes resilience and empowerment. Despite efforts to suppress or oppress women, they possess innate strength and potential for growth, much like seeds waiting to sprout and thrive. Even in the face of adversity, there’s the possibility of renewal and transformation.

The artworks serve as poignant reflections of their experiences, resonating with the challenges they confront — from discrimination and objectification to battles with depression and the trials of the pandemic. Despite these hurdles, these women have persevered, showcasing an unyielding spirit that continues to flourish, evolve, and ultimately triumph.

The exhibit features works by Addie Cukingnan, Am Bonot, Ana Lona Abadies, Flor Baradi, Mai Secuban, Megan Diño, and Rachel Anne Lacaba. “But you Forgot we were Seeds” will be on display from March 16 – 31 at the Mezzanine level of Artepintura Gallery, located at 1460 San Marcelino St. corner Escoda St. Ermita, Manila.
