The Goethe-Institut Philippinen in partnership with the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen e. V. (ifa) invites you to the lectures on “Documentary Photography in Germany” this June 21 and 22, at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila and the De la Salle College of Saint Benilde. The lecture spans an arc from the invention of photography until today following the documentary aspect of the medium from analog to digital reproduction.
The lecture which is a side-event of the Barbara Klemm: Helldunkel – Light and Dark exhibit in Manila will be done by the exhibition curator herself, Dr. Ursula Zeller. She is a German art historian, curator and museum director who curated many exhibitions on contemporary art and organized several conferences on “Art in Central and Eastern Europe“, “Art Exchange” and “Biennials“. She has also published intensively on contemporary art and edited and co-edited many catalogues and books.
The Lectures on Documentary Photography in Germany will happen twice in different venues. The first one will be at the PUP Manila and the second one will be at DLSU-CSB.
